Sharon Johnston has been designing and hand-constructing imaginative jewelry since 1971. In 1976 she designed her first interchangeable stone ring, launching a body of work she calls Metaspherics®.

The pieces you see here are the product of years of experimentation with and refinement of designs that hold stones securely, yet permit the user to easily change the stones.

Moreover, the designs are simple, yet timeless: the interchangeability is a hidden feature that does not distract from the aesthetic of each piece.

Comfort is also a major goal. The rings for example are not round, but rather gently shaped by hand into a pleasing curved shape the mimics the shape of the structure of the finger, so that the ring sits upright on the finger and does not twirl on the hand.

Each of these designs is hand-crafted in Sharon's studio. Sharon is not just the designer, but a hands-on craftsman. Only sterling and/or 14K gold is used in the fabrication of these pieces. These are durable, proven designs that will give the wearer years of pleasure.

Sharon has shown her work at juried art shows and festivals throughout the country. These events remain the best opportunity to see the entire body of her work, including one-of-a-kind pieces and the newest designs.
